FLOORSHIELD®
Springvale Floorshield has been providing efficient and cost-effective solutions for insulating a wide variety of ground supported or suspended concrete ground floor constructions for decades, making substantial contributions to reducing CO2 emissions and improved energy efficiency of buildings with Agrément approval since 1991.
Springvale Floorshield is an expanded polystyrene rigid insulation board available in a range of EPS grades in either white or the improved thermal value Platinum grade.
Floorshield products are light and easy-to-handle and can be installed in new or existing dwellings or buildings of similar occupancy. Floorshield is suitable for use in ground supported concrete floors, above or below the ground bearing slab; above a suspended concrete beam and block floor; within a suspended timber floor and below under floor heating systems.
Providing excellent thermal insulation properties, Floorshield and Platinum Floorshield manufactured in a range of EPS grades and thicknesses allow a suitable range of U-values to be achieved and can be used in conjunction with other Springvale’s product range to aid compliance with Approved Document Part L of the building regulations.

1 – Ground bearing concrete floor construction (Springvale Floorshield on top of slab, below screed finish): 65mm concrete screed λ = 1.15 W/mK, polyethylene separating layer, Springvale Floorshield insulation, dpm, 100mm concrete oversite, 150mm sand blinding hardcore.
2 – Suspended concrete ground floor construction (Springvale Floorshield on top of beam and block, below screed finish): 65mm concrete screed λ = 1.15 W/mK, polyethylene separating layer, Springvale Floorshield insulation, beam and block floor (12%), beam λ = 2.00 W/mK, dense block infill λ = 1.13 W/mK, ventilated void.
Certification
Floorshield and Platinum Floorshield has been awarded BBA certificate No: 91/2568. Please click here to download the BBA certificate. The products are manufactured to the requirements of BS EN 13163, under an ISO 9001 certified quality management system.

The environmental integrity of Springvale Floorshield products is exceptional:
